EASTER is the most important religious holiday in Cyprus.

On Easter Thursday housewives are baking "flauna", a savoury cheese pie . 
On Easter Saturday at 11.00 pm the bells invite everyone to the Ressurection service. 

After the service, fireworks are lit and people go to restaurants or home to eat "magiritsa" soupand  tap hard-boil aggs which are dyed red. 
On Easter Sunday people eat "souvla" or "ovelias" (roast whole lamp)'.
